Background and Rationale
body
The Ramsey County Solid Waste Management Plan outlines the approach to managing waste in the county and is revised every six years, with a 20-year horizon. Developing a Solid Waste Management Plan is required by state law, and plans include goals and mandates set by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, in addition to Ramsey County goals.
At this meeting, staff will present a draft of the Solid Waste Management Plan in anticipation of board approval of the plan at its October 8 meeting. The plan must be submitted to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency by October 24.
Presenters: Rae Eden Frank, Deputy Director, Center for Health Protection and Practice, Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health, and Daniel Schmidt, Interim Environmental Health Division Manager, Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health.
