Hold a closed meeting of the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 under Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.03 to consider strategy for labor negotiations - pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.021, the meeting will take place in-person at 10:30 a.m.

Background and Rationale

Ramsey County will enter into negotiations with our labor unions for collective bargaining agreements beginning January 1, 2024.
Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.03 requires a county board to act in order to establish a closed meeting for the purpose of consider strategy for labor negotiations:
(b) The governing body of a public employer may be a majority vote in a public meeting decide to hold a closed meeting to consider strategy for labor negotiations, including negotiation strategies or developments or discussion and review of labor negotiation proposals, conducted pursuant to sections 179A.01 to 179A.25 Ch. 179A MN Statutes <https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/179a>.
(c) The time of commencement and place of the closed meetings shall be announced at the public meeting.
(d) A written roll of members and all other persons present at the closed meeting shall be made available to the public after the closed meeting.
